Barica details
This cosy, semi-detached stone house really puts you at the heart of local life. Found down a cobbled lane in a sleepy village, you won’t want to move far once you’re here. Inside, Mrs Beloc, the owner, has created a simple, but immaculate home-from-home retreat. The orange-tiled hallway leads to an open-plan living space with a roomy lounge area, dining table and a small, but modern kitchen. You’ll also find a double bedroom with fresh green walls and wood-shuttered windows. As for the décor, think light wood furniture, exposed stone walls and a comfy red sofa.
The circular terrace is certain to become a favourite spot. Shaded by a giant walnut tree, it has a stone table and chairs and is surrounded by peaceful gardens filled with exotic flowers, tangerine trees and fragrant lavender. You’ve also got lovely sea views from here. Another big plus point is that you can help yourself to the garden’s fresh fruit, veg and herbs, grown by Mrs Beloc. There’s also a barbecue you can use. And if you fancy a wander, it’s a five minute stroll down the cobbled hill to the sea and there’s a 15th-century arboretum with classical fountains and plants next door.
