The moment you step through the large wooden doors into Ca’n Maestranca’s entrance hall, you’ll see why we’ve awarded this very pretty villa the ‘Simply Special’ tag. With its wide cobblestone floor, dark wooden beams and original olive press as its centrepiece, it sets the scene for all the other delightful touches in store.

The villa’s been beautifully restored and is brimming with character. Traditionally furnished throughout with tiled floors and wood-beamed ceilings, it’s filled with special features that make it warm and welcoming. The living and dining room is comfortably furnished and the dining end is actually where the old farmhouse kitchen stood - the original sink is still in use. Also downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen and the smart master double bedroom, with an en suite. The remaining three bedrooms are on the first floor and there’s another living area up here with views of the garden and swimming pool.

French doors open out onto the partly-covered paved terrace which leads to the lawns and garden surrounding the pool. There’s also a covered barbecue area for al fresco dining. And it feels very private and secluded because the house sits in a quiet spot with just mountain views for company. But just a quick drive away is Pollensa, with its laid-back air and choice of cafés and restaurants.
