Coyaba Beach Resort & Club details
A taste of traditional Jamaica with a modern twist – that’s what you get with a stay at the Coyaba Beach Resort.
This family-run hotel showcases the best of the Caribbean’s good looks. It’s spread over acres of tropical gardens and looks out over its own beach – a ribbon of flour-soft sand that runs the length of the grounds. There’s a private jetty, too, and just footsteps from the shore you’ll find a swimming pool and open-air whirlpool bath. They’re surrounded by a smart sun terrace freckled with palms and parasols, so you’ve got the option of sun or shade between dips. When it comes to food and drink, there’s a restaurant-come-bar by the swimming pool. It faces the beach and is decked out with comfy wicker armchairs. As well as serving up drinks and light meals all day, it provides the backdrop for regular theme nights when darkness hits. Seafood Night and Native Night are two of the most popular. Away from the sand, meanwhile, there’s the Vineyard Restaurant. Menu-wise, the emphasis is on fresh, seasonal produce and a cast of Caribbean classics. Think curried chicken, fresh red snapper, and spicy rice dishes. As for the accommodation here, it’s really airy and light. Bedrooms feature big French doors that lead out onto private balconies. Inside, whitewashed walls and terracotta floors are teamed with carved dark-wood furniture and soft-furnishings patterned in bold florals. Interconnecting rooms are available if space is a priority, and mod-cons like air-conditioning, cable TVs and coffee-makers come as standard. Rounding things off is the spa. It’s a serene space kitted out with candlelit therapy suites and open-air massage rooms set just a stone’s throw from the sea.
