At La Viña del Laero, it’s tree-covered hills in every direction. And a sea view for good measure. It may be a few minutes’ drive to Frigiliana and all its shops, bars and restaurants, but in exchange, the villa does have ‘relaxing’ and ‘peaceful’ down to a fine art.

With such a lovely setting, life at the villa itself revolves around the outdoors. Taking centre stage is the oval-shaped pool which, like the rest of the place, is in a prime spot for soaking up the views. The other noteworthy outdoor features are the covered terrace, with patio furniture, and the barbecue ‘station’. Like the terrace, it’s covered. It’s also tantamount to an outdoor kitchen – the barbecue’s built-in like an oven and there’s a worktop, cupboards and sink.

Inside, the décor is a traditional Andalucian style, so you can expect a fairly simple set-up. Whitewashed walls go hand in hand with straightforward furnishings and terracotta-tiled floors, while in the kitchen, there’s a mixture of latticed cupboards and a rustic, wooden dining set.
