Couple-sized Moorish-style cottages in an idyllic rural corner of Andalucía.

Three kilometres down a mountain track from the traditional ‘pueblo blanco’ of El Gastor, Le Paradis is quite a find. Secluded, it’s perfect for couples looking for peace. Once again, it’s the work of Michel, the Frenchman responsible for several other lovely properties around Los Algarrobales. And as always, comfort and style are the order of the day. It’s not unusual for guests visiting in the spring to book straight away to return later in the year.

Each cottage is tastefully decorated to reflect the region's rich cultural heritage. That means Arab rugs and artefacts and walls adorned with Moorish ceramics and materials. Inside, a Moorish-style archway separates the bedroom from the brightly decorated living area. And with central heating for cooler evenings in early or late season and air-conditioning for the hotter months, you’ll feel comfortable whenever you visit. There’s also an open-plan kitchen with a cooker and fridge.

Outside, a good-sized swimming pool is shared by guests, but each house has its own private verandah with mountain views. They’re designed to catch the sun, but there are plenty of olive and carob trees nearby for shade. And come evening, the central pavilion makes an ideal setting for a meal.
