It’s the setting that stands out at this place. Not only does the property cling to a wide stretch of sand overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba, the Sinai Mountains provide the backdrop, so you can expect fabulous views in every direction. What’s more, you’re in a great spot for exploring – the shops and restaurants of Taba Heights are less than five minutes in a taxi.

Back at the hotel, the pool scene is the main draw. There are two good-size pools out here, flanked by loungers, palms, and neat patches of lawn. There’s a separate pool just for little ones, too, and ice-cream, snacks and drinks are on offer throughout the day from the poolside bar. Plus, you’ll find three whirlpool baths nearby if you want to up the relaxation factor.

Activity-wise, you’re spoilt for choice. Expect all the usual favourites on the agenda, like tennis, volleyball and billiards. You can also try your hand at scuba diving, courtesy of the hotel’s very own dive centre. Smaller guests aren’t forgotten, either – they’ve got a children’s club and playground to keep them entertained.

When it comes to mealtimes, it’s a similar story. In the buffet restaurant, you’ll find a mixture of international and local dishes on offer, with pasta, fish, meat and vegetable dishes all featuring.

Lastly, a word on the rooms. They’ve got a Mediterranean vibe, with peach walls, terracotta tiled floors and dark-wood furniture. All the usual bits and pieces come as standard, such as satellite TV, air-conditioning and hairdryers. The best part, though, is that all of them come with a balcony or terrace.
