Centara Kata Resort Hotel details
Set among much hills and vegetation, and designed with traditional Thai and contemporary style architecture, the four-star Centara Kata Resort makes a picturesque location for that fun holiday on the Thai island of Phuket. With great pool facilities and unmissable dining opportunities, this resort is ideal for those seeking a more tranquil Thai holiday.
The unique architecture similarly decorates the 158 rooms and suites, which are spacious and littered throughout innumerable two or three storey low-rise buildings.
Perfect for the kids during your holiday is the Kids Club. As part of this, children aged from 4 to 9 can take part in Camp Safari, where completing a number of exciting activities can be rewarded with a sticker. Those aged 10 to 17, however, can enjoy the separate E-Zone, where they can play an assortment of computer games on consoles including the PlayStation and Nintendo Wii.
And while they are enjoying all that, there are plenty of activities for you, the adults, to get stuck into. More adventurous pursuits include surfing, elephant trekking and horseback riding, but thanks to facilities like the snooker and table tennis tables, you can take comfort in something a little more familiar.
After all that fun, though, you will need a way to relax. There are plenty available at Spa Cenvaree. There are all kinds of pampering treatments available, including massage, facials and nail care. Whichever you choose, expect procedures like water cleansing, aroma breathing and body therapies to do plenty of good for your body, mind and soul.
Other priceless facilities throughout the resort include room, baby-sitting and laundry and dry-cleaning services, widespread Internet access and a Fitness Centre. There are also options to book tours to all the exciting attractions throughout Kata Beach and the island of Phuket, so you can get an idea of where you want to go first.
Location
Centara Kata Resort is located on Kata Beach, part of a wider array of local beaches including Patong and Karon. Kata, however, is especially suited to families, with its shallow waters and huge amount of space spanning two kilometres. Like at Patong and Karon, however, there remain plentiful shopping and dining opportunities, while you can dip into the sea to try out some snorkelling or diving.
Other intriguing local attractions throughout Phuket include its best-known, the Two Heroines Monument - where the figures of sisters Thao Thep Krasattri and Thao Si Sunthon, who in 1785 courageously called on islanders to repel Burmese invaders, are immortalised. Meanwhile, the kids will love seeing animals like crocodiles, tigers, ostriches, and emus at Phuket Zoo. The aquarium there is similarly worth a look.
