Infinity sea views and peaceful, palm-dotted grounds – the ClubHotel Riu Gran Canaria is a real oasis on the edge of Meloneras.

The ClubHotel Riu Gran Canaria is set on a slither of land that overlooks the Atlantic, so sweeping views are one of the property’s highlights. The hotel’s grounds are spread out over 30,000 square metres, and lots of the space is covered in cacti, glossy palms and grassy lawns.

Three large swimming pools are set among the greenery including a new infinity pool. They're surrounded by a terrace that’s dotted with sunbeds. You’ll also find a separate paddling pool for little ones out here, plus a restaurant-come-bar which serves cocktails and light bites. There'll be a brand new sea-facing pool opening in summer 2013, too, and the children's pool will have some new additions in the form of slides and a pirate ship.

You can try a different cuisine every night in the hotel’s restaurants. There are four to choose from, including a buffet eatery featuring meat, fish and pasta dishes, and the Roque Nublu Canarian joint, which lets you tuck in to local specialities. Finally, you’ve got Las Brisas, an atmospheric restaurant that does a great line in Asian fare.
