With a huge pool and a white-sand beach on its doorstep, the adult-exclusive Gran Bahia Principe Ambar was made for lazy Caribbean days.
This hotel is in a first-class location. It’s set on the edge of a 700-metre-long beach, where there’s a hotel bar and lots of watersports on offer.
The pool puts up some stiff competition to the beach. Big and curvy, it has its own swim-up bar and palm-studded island. Thatched umbrellas and loungers for two fill the terraces, and romantic gardens frame the whole scene.
The hotel really spoils you with the bedrooms. Expect four-poster beds, hydro-massage bathtubs, plasma TVs, private balconies and butler service.
When it comes to food, there’s a buffet restaurant, which serves international food, and three à la cartes, offering seafood, gourmet dishes and Italian cuisine. Post-dinner fun takes the form of cocktails in the bars and dancing in the disco.
Lastly, you get full use of the facilities at the neighbouring Gran Bahia Principe Bavaro and Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana hotels. Just keep in mind they're not adults-only hotels.
