As you might expect, this brand new complex has been created with nature in mind. It’s been built using eco-compatible materials, so it means you get to be green and stylish in equal measure.

And talking of style, this place simply oozes it. Villas come dressed in soft, warm colours with teak-wood furnishings. Exposed beams and polished wood floors create a country cottage feel, while soft muslin curtains, comfy sofas and spacious dining areas add a homely touch. Bedrooms, meanwhile, are sanctuary-like spaces – think mood lighting, crisp cotton sheets and sliding glass doors that lead out onto your own private terrace. Bathrooms are pretty Zen-like, too. We’re talking Scandinavian-style fittings, with exposed wood and power showers taking centre-stage. And, of course, extras like air-conditioning and plasma satellite TVs are all part of the package.

Head outside and, aside from the gorgeous gardens, you’ll find a lagoon-like swimming pool at the centre of things. It’s big enough to warrant its own bridge-crossing in the middle and comes framed by a roomy sun terrace. There’s a pool bar, too.

On the food front, you’ll find a restaurant serving a tempting mix of buffet and à la carte cuisine – all with a side-order of panoramic views. Expect a fusion of international flavours here, everything from Italian specialities to English favourites. But if you do fancy eating out, you can be in the heart of Lignano in minutes. It’s just a 15-minute walk.
