If the golf is just as important as the beach, you couldn’t ask for a better setting than the Do Golf Apartments. They’re right on the doorstep of the famous Vilamoura course, the second oldest in the area. All tree-lined fairways and natural lakes, it’s also one of the most scenic. And if its 18 holes aren’t enough to keep you busy, the Pinhal, Laguna and Vitoria courses are also nearby.

When you’re not pitching and putting, the apartments are only a few minutes’ drive from the beach. Textbook Algarve, it’s all golden sands and rugged cliffs. The old Vilamoura harbour is just around the corner, too, so you’re close to shops, restaurants and bars. What’s more, there’s a courtesy bus to both the beach and the harbour, so getting there and back is a cinch.

The apartments themselves are a great place for taking it easy. Outside, the pool steals the show. Not only is it huge, but it’s surrounded by a grassy sunbathing area, complete with palms and parasols. There’s a smaller pool for the little ones, too, as well as a poolside bar which serves up a good selection of snacks and cocktails.

Inside, the laid-back setting continues. The bedrooms are light and spacious, with white walls, tiled floors and wooden furnishings giving them a contemporary Portugese feel. The open-plan lounge-kitchen, meanwhile, is decked out with all the mod cons, like satellite TV and air-conditioning. And each apartment comes with its own balcony or patio, too.
