Hotel Divan Bodrum details
"Set in an area favoured by Turkey’s rich and famous, and with its own private jetty decked out to look like a beach club, this hotel has an exclusive air."
For a getaway where rest and relaxation are at the top of your to-do list, this place is perfect. It’s a low-level stone building in gardens laced with palms and bougainvillea. Plus, the waterfront, where you’ll find the hotel’s private jetty, is just footsteps away.
But while the location is good, it’s the pool that really steals the limelight. It’s big and curvy with a small palm island in the middle. Skirting the edges is a wraparound sun terrace dotted with cream sunbeds and parasols. And in the evening, when it’s lit up by spotlights, it turns into the perfect place for a quiet drink.
Inside, bedrooms are a bubble of calm. They’re styled in that low-key elegant fashion loved by designers. Beds are huge, well-dressed and topped with scatter cushions, and furniture is of the sleek and wooden variety. As for creature comforts, expect things like satellite TVs and minibars.
Elsewhere, there’s the dining scene. Start the day with a buffet breakfast and end it in the Iskele restaurant. Serving up Med dishes in an al fresco setting, it’s an idyllic way to end the day.
