Hotel Egeo details
“A small hotel with Malibu beach house styling, Hotel Egeo is perfectly placed for a Thassos Town escape.”
This small-but-perfectly-formed hotel takes Greek design to new heights. It’s a fresh take on the traditional sugar-cube shape that is so synonymous with Greece. As such, it’s fairly square and the walls are whitewashed. But that’s where the similarity ends. Rounded corners and a glass brick pillar give it an Art Deco feel. The end result is a hotel that wouldn’t look out of place on Miami’s South Beach.
Inside, they’ve kept things simple with a blank canvas of white. The lobby is a marble floored space with comfy coral-cushioned sofas. And the bedrooms work the minimalist look with traditional cherry wood furniture, French windows and tiled floors. Nice to haves come in the form of satellite TVs and either a balcony or terrace.
As for where you’ll find it, it’s just a short walk to the main ferry harbour. Which means there are bars and restaurants right on the doorstep, as well as the town’s crowning glory – an acropolis complete with temples and an amphitheatre. And while there’s no pool here, you’re just a short walk away from the town beach.
