This classic Italian hotel is close to the beach and the centre of Forte dei Marmi.
Thanks to its shallow-tiled roof, wrought-iron balconies and cloak of pine and cypress trees, the Hotel Mirabeau is instantly recognisable as Italian. It doesn’t disappoint inside, either. Floors are tiled, walls are blush-coloured, and pictures of the Tuscan countryside hang on the walls.
The hotel has an impressive postcode in a residential part of the upmarket seaside town, Forte dei Marmi. It’s less than a 10-minute walk to Forte dei Marmi Beach and a 20-minute stroll to the town centre. The prestigious Versilia Golf Resort is also close by, and the hotel runs a shuttle bus there.
The driving force behind the hotel’s facilities is wellbeing. The spacious rectangular swimming pool has a whirlpool section and, at one end, a couple of white linen gazebos provide respite from the sun’s rays. The hotel also counts a sauna and a Turkish bath in its relaxation arsenal.
The restaurant here serves a buffet breakfast of breads, cheeses, fruits and yoghurts. Waiter service is laid on at dinner time, when the menu showcases Tuscan dishes like traditional soups and roasted meats. The tables spill out onto a veranda, where you can dine in view of the pool.
