Hotel Panorama details
“With mountains on one side and the sea on the other, the Hotel Panorama is perfectly placed.”
Unsurprisingly for a Lesbos hotel, it’s the views that make the headlines at the aptly-named Panorama. The property sits on a hillside, so you can gorge on Petra’s gorgeous scenery from pretty much any spot in the grounds. In one direction you’ve got tall tree-stacked mountains, in the other, the sparkling blue waters of the Aegean.
Everything else about the hotel is just as lovely, but in a modest, fuss-free kind of way. Take the reception area, for instance – whitewashed walls and a stone desk give things a traditional feel. Step through to the bar and it’s a similar story.
As for the bedrooms, they’ve got an English bed and breakfast vibe. Décor-wise, that means royal blue carpets and wooden furniture. When it comes to mod-cons, you’ll find air-conditioning and satellite TVs. Plus each room has a private balcony so you can soak up the views whenever you like.
Day-to-day life here tends to revolve around the swimming pool. Set at the foot of a hill and surrounded by ruby red flowers, it’s in a really pretty spot. When you’re not taking a dip, set up camp on the sun terrace. It opens out onto the hotel’s café, so it’s perfectly placed for those poolside lunches.
When it comes to getting out and about, all of Petra’s attractions are within walking distance. The beach is just a couple of minutes away, while the town centre can be reached in about ten.
