La Colombaia - Apartment B Allodola details
These family-run apartments near Vinci offer beautiful views, a big pool, and a real taste of Tuscan life.
These apartments are in a restored farmhouse at the Santa Liberata farm in the heart of Tuscany. Aftter making the drive from Pisa Airport, you'll be greeted by views of the olive groves, vineyards and woodland that make up the 30-acre farm. It’s all owned by Daniele and Elena, whose grandfather, Agostino, set up the place in 1940. During your stay, the couple will happily give you a tour, along with some samples of the excellent Chianti and olive oil they produce.
The apartments are very traditional, with original features like brick floors and beams made from chestnut. All of them come with separate living areas and kitchenettes. There’s also a pizza oven out in the garden, and you’re free to pick vegetables from Daniele and Elena’s well-stocked kitchen garden.
There’s also a large swimming pool in the garden that’s open during summer. It has lovely views across the rolling Tuscan countryside, and a gazebo just to one side.
La Colombaia is perfectly placed for exploring. Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo, is a few minutes’ drive away, as is Montelupo Fiorentino, which is known for its hand-painted ceramics. Must-visit cities like Florence and Pisa are less than an hour away.
