The Mercure Hurghada has luxurious bedrooms, 3 restaurants and a great pool scene, all just metres from the Red Sea.

The Mercure Hurghada is right on a 700-metre private beach, where there are plenty of thatched parasols and a beach bar serving cocktails. You’ll find a swimming pool just behind the sand, which also comes with a bar.

When it comes to dining, you’ve got a choice between a buffet restaurant offering everything from spaghetti bolognese to traditional Egyptian fare, and 2 à la cartes. One serves Middle and Far Eastern cuisine, the other has a seafood menu which includes the catch of the day. After-dinner entertainment, meanwhile, comes in the form of colourful folklore shows and dancing.

Inside, bedrooms are really elegant, with satin bedding and window seats set in alcoves. They’re really light, thanks to big French doors opening onto balconies that overlook the gardens or sea.
