The Rizolia Villas form part of a private village, made up of ten villas in total. Think two-storeys of stone-built simplicity set in landscaped gardens, and you get the picture. Not only have they stuck to the traditional sugar cube shape, they’ve left much of the original landscape intact, too – twisted old olive trees still stand in the grounds.

We’ve picked five of those ten villas for you to choose from, all big enough for six people to share. In a nod to tradition, they come with terracotta tiled floors, full-length muslin drapes and open stonework. Built-in white sofas and mismatched cushions add a modern vintage feel. While antique-look dark wood furniture and beamed ceilings complete the picture.

The rooms are spread over two levels with one double and one twin bedroom upstairs, as well as a family bathroom. Downstairs, you’ll find an open-plan dining area, living room and kitchen, and there’s also another double bedroom with en suite bathroom.

But the real standout feature is the pool area. Behind each villa, there’s a covered patio, perfect for al fresco meals. It opens out on to neatly trimmed gardens, where you’ll find your own classic, rectangular pool.
