If Sisu Boutique bears more than a passing resemblance to the Locrimar Hotel, it’s because they’re one and the same. But a 2009 makeover has transformed the Locrimar into a haven of 21st-century design complete with an uber chic restaurant.

The new Novelli’s restaurant was the first phase of the renovation to be completed, setting the standard for the rest of the hotel. Soft red leather and black velvet provide a striking backdrop for the executive chef’s signature dishes. Breakfast is also served here, as well as an option called ‘Mange Vite’ which literally translates into Quick Bite. And for something really special, you can book the Chef’s Table for an eight-course tasting menu with a front-row seat to the kitchen.

The same attention to detail has been applied in the bedrooms. Black and truffle shades are a bold accent to the canvas of cream and white. There are five penthouse suites which take their interior design cue from iconic films like Pulp Fiction. Plus there are two extra-special master suites styled around Scarface and Moulin Rouge. Each and every bolthole comes with a minibar, air-conditioning and satellite TV. But the master suites also come with luxe touches like in-room hot tubs, steam showers and oversized beds.

The shared spaces are on-trend, too. The reception comes with a curved glass wall and a cosy café lounge. And the pool area wouldn’t look out of place on a magazine cover – all teak decking, well-established palms and chic metal-framed sunloungers. The new cocktail bar, meanwhile, is up on the roof – along with the gym. In terms of things to do, you’re just a ten-minute walk from Puerto Banus, and the beach is closer still. You can hire a bike from reception to make exploring easier on your feet. Finally, Sisu’s in-house Golf Consultant is on hand to book tee-off times, arrange transport and take care of all your golfing needs.
