Thalassa Village Skanes details
They say the early bird catches the worm, and it’s true at the Thalassa Village Skanes. Stay here in summer 2013 and you could be one of the first people to shoot down the slides at the so-new-it’s-still-being-built waterpark. This exciting new feature is being added to the hotel over the winter months, so it's up and ready for the start of summer. There’ll be speed slides for the fearless, pulse-racing body slides, and multi-lane versions to race your mates down. Plus, pint-sized guests get a pick and mix of mini-slides to choose from. So what about the hotel itself? For one thing, it’s right on Skanes Beach, and there’s a snack bar on the sand. Plus, there are 2 pools right next to the beach – a supersized main one, and another framed by lawns. On top of that, there’s a buffet restaurant with a terrace, and 4 bars to tick off while you’re here.

I’ve had a sneaky peek at the plans for this one, and I can’t wait for the grand unveiling in 2013. With a nail-biting line-up of tube slides, speed slides and body slides, this place definitely deserves an 8.
