Ca'n Durai details
The scents of nature surrounding this villa are quite something. The porch is covered in swathes of purple bougainvillaea, and in the grounds, you’ll find orange, apple, fig and palm trees. And if that’s not enough to get the senses going, the driveway is lined with grapevines.
All the mature trees around Ca’n Durai make for a peaceful ambience as well as offering plenty of privacy. The swimming pool is screened by a cypress hedge, for instance. As for the pool itself, it’s a generous size with a paved terrace all around, providing space for sunbeds, chairs and tables. There’s a permanent barbecue area, too.
Inside, it’s homely and traditional. A handsome, decorative fireplace is the focal point in the open-plan living room, which includes a dining area and the kitchen is separated from the lounge by a breakfast bar. The bedrooms, meanwhile, a double and two twins – are comfortable and pretty, with traditional-style wooden bedsteads.
Ca’n Durai is in a convenient spot for exploring the lovely sandy beaches around Cala San Vicente and Puerto de Pollensa if you want to head out. There’s no shortage of restaurants, either. And for a contrast, Pollensa old town, with its narrow cobbled streets and quaint shops selling traditional handcrafts, is also close by.
