On the edge of Pythagorion, this cosy set of studios is a great away-from-it-all option.

Well off the tourist trail, the Anthis Studios and Apartments make the ideal escape. They’re about a 20-minute walk from the nearest village, Hora, and half an hour from Pythagorion, so peace, quiet and poolside days are all part of the package.

Talking of the pool, it’s a large rectangular number lined with loungers and umbrellas. A scattering of trees provides plenty of shade, while the surrounding mountains offer up great views. There’s a pool bar out here, too, which serves light bites – including their renowned homemade chips – throughout the day.

Inside, the studios and apartments are typically Greek. Think tiled floors, pine furniture and whitewashed walls. They all come with little kitchenettes, too, which are fine for rustling up snacks. Plus each one has a balcony or a patio, complete with views of the surrounding greenery.

Lastly, there’s a lovely little garden here, tucked away in the corner. Dotted with citrus trees and bougainvillea, it’s a great chill-out zone.
