Roomy apartments not far from the town centre and a sandy beach – that’s Club Sun Village in a nutshell.

These family-run apartments come up trumps on the location front. The heart of Icmeler is just a 5-minute walk away, while the beach is around 15. It’s a pretty horseshoe-shaped stretch of sand with plenty of sunloungers.

But back at the hotel, it’s the heart-shaped pool that steals the show. It’s bordered by thatched parasols and comfy sunloungers, and has a separate kids’ pool. A poolside bar-come-café does a great line in Turkish coffees and cool-down drinks.

As for accommodation, there’s a range of apartment sizes on offer. Their simple style includes pale walls and fuss-free furniture. Well-equipped kitchenettes and private balconies come as standard, too.

If you don’t fancy rustling up your own meals, head for the poolside restaurant. It serves a menu of international dishes on its open-air terrace. Plus, it’s well worth having a look at the weekly Turkish night.
