The first thing that strikes you about the family-run Eva Hotel is its location. Set in a quiet and relaxing spot, it sits above Ornos Bay and puts you within a five-minute walk of the beach. Here, you can grab a water taxi to the more famous beaches of Paradise, Super Paradise, Elia and Agrari. And because of its position on the hillside, it offers uninterrupted sea views. For anyone who wants to explore slightly further afield, meanwhile, Mykonos Town is about a five-minute drive.

At the hotel, the show-stealer’s the swimming pool area. It’s a funky infinity-style set-up with thatched parasols and plenty of sunbeds around the terrace. Plus there’s a poolside bar for a quick refreshment or three. Speaking of bars, head indoors and you’ll find another one adjacent to the reception area. Going thirsty here isn’t an option.

The bedrooms are also well kitted out. There’s a fridge as well as a large private balcony and nice-to-haves like satellite TVs and air-conditioning. Furniture-wise, you’re looking at chunky dark woods, tiled floors and simple white walls to match the whitewashed exterior.
