The views at the Hotel Excelsior are second to none. The property is perched on the hillside above Amalfi, and it looks out over miles of curving coastline and the Mediterranean Sea.
The swimming pool and sundeck showcase the sea views. Plus, for a charge you can use the hotel’s private beach, which is reached by shuttle bus and an elevator in the rocks.
As far as food is concerned, the al fresco Grill Garden restaurant serves fresh fish and local specialities, and the Tato eatery offers an a la carte menu of Italian food.
It’s easy to explore when you stay here. If you want to see Italy at its most authentic, the traditional town of Pogerola is outside the hotel’s door. Amalfi, meanwhile, is a twenty-minute walk away, and the hotel runs a regular courtesy shuttle service if you don’t feel like walking.
