The majestic La Marquise really lays on the luxury. From the pools to the grounds, everything here is done on a grand scale.

The La Marquise Hotel was recently re-built from scratch, and the designers have really made the most of the property’s 120,000 square metres. Cue tranquil gardens and grand fountains that sweep down to Kalithea’s Blue Flag sweep of sand.

At the centre of the grounds, you’ll find five swimming pools, including a rooftop number and a paddling pool for little ones. They’ve all been decked out with LED spot lighting that looks spectacular come sundown. For more in the way of relaxation, the spa offers up treatments like holistic cocooning and Thai massage. Plus, it boasts a pool that comes complete with caves and a waterfall.

When it comes to dining, expect Greek and Mediterranean dishes in the Da Vinci Restaurant. And for after-dinner drinks, head to the lounge bar for cocktails and piano music overlooking the gardens. Best of all, if you fancy a change of scene, it’s just a ten-minute drive to lively Rhodes Town.
