Teaming a beachside setting with a brilliant pool scene, the Orquidea is spot on for family getaways.

When it comes to family holidays the Hotel Orquidea really hits the nail on the head. It’s part of the Thomson Family Resorts collection from May - mid October, so it comes with a Thomson Kids’ Club and a crèche. Plus, because the property is set in gardens, with lawns stretching to a beach, there’s plenty of space.

Before you get to the beach, though, the pool area will stop you in your tracks. It’s home to three big swimming pools and terraces surrounded by palms.

On the food front, breakfast and dinner are served in the main buffet restaurant, where chefs show-cook as you eat. At lunchtime, the pool bar is really popular, thanks to the picture windows that overlook the pool. When you want a change, there’s an à la carte grill in the gardens.

The rooms are split-level but, if you want a bit more space, you can upgrade to a family suite. Superior rooms, meanwhile, come with flatscreen TVs and DVD players.

Room facilities

All rooms have air-conditioning at manager's discretion, satellite TV, phone and kettle. Standard rooms have 1 double or 2 twin beds plus a sofa-bed with pull-out bed as required. Most rooms are split-level with a number of steps. Pool-view and Sea-view rooms are available.

We also offer Suites, Junior suites and Superior rooms from May-Oct. Family rooms and Interconnecting rooms are also available - you'll need to book 2 Interconnecting for 2 rooms with a connecting door.

Superior rooms have flatscreen TV, DVD player - DVD library in reception, welcome snack pack on arrival, upgraded furniture and soft furnishings, bathrobe, bathroom amenities and sea view.

Family rooms are a 4-bedded room with a child bed and extra bed in a separate lounge.

Suites are as Family rooms with a child bed in the bedroom and an extra bed in a separate lounge. They have a limited sea view.

Junior suites are open-plan, with a double bed and 2 beds in the lounge area.
