You’ll find the recently renovated Skopelos Holiday Resort in a hushed setting, nestled into a hillside scattered with olive groves. And as you’d expect, the views from here are pretty postcard-worthy – you can see right down to the coast, the harbour and Skopelos Town. In fact, the town isn’t too far away – you can walk there in 15 minutes. As for the coast, the nearest beaches are about 45 minutes away on foot. The walk’s really scenic – all quaint churches and old springs – though a taxi gets you there in just a couple of ticks.

Outside, there’s a decent-sized swimming pool. It’s framed by a wide sun terrace dotted with linen parasols and comfy outdoor sofas – an ideal spot for soaking up those views. There’s a separate kids’ splash pool, too, and a poolside bar open throughout the day.

Inside, rooms are all about understated chic – think white walls, clean lines and simple lightwood furniture. They all come with well-equipped kitchenettes and roomy verandas or terraces, too. There’s a selection of studios, apartments and cabanas - which are a bit like mini villas - to choose from. So whatever your party size, there’s something to fit the bill. And for an added touch of luxury, cabanas even come with their own private pools.

On the food front, you’ll find a newly-opened restaurant overlooking the pool. Breakfasts and dinners come in the form of big help-yourself buffets, while lunch is an à la carte affair. Order traditional Greek meze, fresh seafood or home-from-home favourites like steak and chips.

Lastly, the spa here deserves a special mention. This spotlit space is kitted out in calming cream and white tones, with sleek contemporary fittings adding to the minimalist feel.
