The family-run Sofia’s Studios is right in the heart of Kalamaki. The town’s long sandy beach is less than a 10-minute walk away, with a handful of tavernas and bars lining the route. Plus, Zante Town, with its restaurant-packed harbour, is around 10 minutes away by car.

The complex is made up of pastel-painted buildings that wrap around a palm-studded central courtyard. Studios have a homely feel, with blue-painted furniture and floor-length curtains. And meals are easy thanks to kitchenettes and an on-site supermarket which sells plenty of favourites from back home.

Outside, there’s a pool framed by shrubs and small palms in pots. The bar next to it is a real entertainment hub. You can watch live sporting events on plasma screens here, and there are a couple of pool tables and arcade games.
