Locations don’t get much better than this. Set in tropical gardens just steps from a white sandy beach that stretches for 18 acres, Tradewinds impresses from the start. The hotel has plenty of outdoors space, so it’s not surprising there’s lots going on out in the open.

One of the best ways to see what this place has to offer is to hop in a paddle boat and bob along the snaking waterways. They wend their way from the back of the hotel down to the front, so you’ll see pretty much everything that’s going on. Highlights include the four tennis courts, the beachfront pool and the huge terraces dotted with comfy sunloungers.

Elsewhere, away from the paddle boats, you’ll find the likes of a spa offering body wraps and massages, activities like minigolf and yoga, plus watersports like parasailing and water-skiing down at the beach.

Indoors, meanwhile, everything’s been made to look as homely as possible. The bedrooms have been decorated in warm peach and blue hues and come teamed with big matching beds and comfy chairs. Extras like mini-fridges, TVs and radios all come as standard.

As for food, with nine eateries scattered around the grounds, there’s no shortage of choice. You’ve got everything from the Palm Court Italian Grill where you can feast on dishes like carpaccio and seafood linguine, to the Flying Bridge where nachos and burgers are the order of the day.
