Asteris Hotel details
Set on the outskirts of Skala, these family-run apartments offer up a warm welcome and a chance to recharge the batteries.
You can really drop off the radar when you stay at the Asteris Apartments. The property is set on a hill, four kilometres from the centre of Skala, so it’s really peaceful. In fact, the only thing to distract you here are the absorbing sea views.
The complex has been built with families in mind. There’s a large L-shaped pool and plenty of sunloungers, so there’s enough sunbathing space for the whole tribe. Plus, there are boredom busters for the little ones, including a kids’ pool and a playground.
The property is run by local family who pride themselves on their Greek hospitality. You’ll get the best feel for this at the snack bar/restaurant, where big portions of home-made food are served with a nothing’s-too-much-trouble attitude.
If you want to explore the island, it’s a good idea to hire a car. That way, you can reach the bars and restaurants of Skala in five-minutes and Turtle Beach in ten.
