Casa Cica details
Casa Cica was made for secluded getaways. Reached by a winding track and surrounded by sweet-smelling mango trees, it’s got practically nothing else around it. That’s not to say it’s cut off, though – it’s just a ten-minute drive to the Moorish village of Frigiliana, voted the prettiest village in Andalucia by the Spanish tourist board. And the popular tourist hub of Nerja is a 20-minute drive away.
As for the villa itself, it’s a low-rise, whitewashed property framed by greenery. And because it’s set on a hillside, it offers sweeping rural views from pretty much every window. Step outside and an oval-shaped swimming pool takes centre-stage. Overlooking the valley, it certainly makes the most of its elevated setting. Plus, there’s a terraced dining area and a built-in barbecue just above it.
Inside, white walls, terracotta floors and simple pine furniture create a classic cottage-y feel. Modern must-haves, like air-conditioning and a satellite TV, are all part of the package. And the kitchen has everything from a washing machine to a microwave. Last but not least, the bedroom keeps up the homely vibe, with a wrought-iron bed and watercolour paintings among its features.
