This beautifully-designed villa makes an idyllic spot for two couples or a small family who want to enjoy relaxed outdoor living in comfort and style. Horta da Avozinha – or ‘Granny’s Garden' – sits in a lovely garden and orchard where you can pluck a fresh lemon straight off the tree for your gin and tonic.

With two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus a modern, well-equipped kitchen, the living accommodation is spacious and comfortable. It’s stylish, too. Against a background of pale-washed walls and light-tiled floors, there’s good-quality wooden furniture with splashes of colour from the tasteful fabrics and furnishings.

Wide French windows in the large living-come-dining area lead straight onto a covered veranda that runs in front of the swimming pool. It couldn’t be more convenient, especially if you need to keep an eye on little ones. There are sun-beds and a dining table and chairs out here, too, for al fresco meals by the pool.

The garden and orchard are enclosed – another plus for families with children – and are shared with Villa Kimbo. But there’s no compromise of privacy as they stand at opposite ends of the garden.
