The Hotel Frank wins first prize for location. It’s secured a private stretch of Lido Di Jesolo Beach, a 2-minute walk away. Here, the promenade is lined with trattorias, bars and gelaterias. If you want to explore further afield, the Aqualandia waterpark is about 10 minutes on foot, and Venice is just 30 minutes on the local ferry.

At the hotel itself, the pool takes centre stage. It’s framed by wide lawns, and there’s a terrace bar that’s open until late in the evening. For main meals, the hotel’s restaurant serves a buffet breakfast and an à la carte lunch and dinner. It uses seasonal, local produce, and the excellent food has been noticed by TripAdvisor reviewers.

Last but not least, bedrooms have a classic look and feel, with patterned bedspreads and lots of wood. And all of them come with that all-important balcony.
