Tucked between dramatic mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, this place serves up a tropical pool scene and views that are second-to-none.

The Hotel H10 Timanfaya Palace is really striking. It's exteriors are characterised by tall white turrets and huge glass panels. Step inside, and glossy palms and lots of greenery give things a tropical vibe.

The swimming pools are bordered by loungers, palms and parasols, and their raised positions means sweeping sea views are part of the package. Daytime refreshments are on offer in a nearby thatched bar, and a trendy coffee shop that serves the likes of homemade carrot cake.

When it comes to mealtimes, there’s a lot on offer. In the mornings, the buffet restaurant serves up fresh fruit, pastries and cooked-to-order omelettes. For lunch and dinner, you’ll find a selection of international dishes.

As for the rooms, whitewashed walls and pine furniture keep things smart, while funky leaf-shaped wall mirrors add a stylish touch.
