Perched in a quiet spot on the seafront, this hotel is far enough away to give you that feeling of escape – but close enough to be able to re-acquaint yourself with the rest of the world whenever you fancy. It’s right beside the wide seafront promenade that leads to the centre of Playa Blanca, passing beach and harbour along the way. It’s a 30 to 45-minute walk but you can always get a bus or taxi back.
Inside, the lobby – with its shining marble floor, indoor palms and floor-to-ceiling glass walls – sets a scene of contemporary chic. From there, it’s straight ahead to the yawning sun terrace and swimming pools which serve up grandstand ocean views wherever you sit. A whirlpool adds a touch of glamour, and there’s a bar to keep you topped up with drinks.
The bedrooms, meanwhile, are modern and minimalist with extras like minibars, satellite TVs and bathrobes. If you’re in need of a little extra pampering, the spa deserves a special mention. Mud treatments, muscle-melting massages and a sauna are some of the indulgences on offer.
Then there’s the food to consider. The hotel’s restaurant serves up buffets with show-cooking on the side so you can have your morning eggs made to order.
