If there’s one thing that makes Hotel Lambros stand out from the crowd, it’s the warm welcome you’ll get when you stay here. Owners, Sophia and Cristos, really go out of their way to make you feel at home, and it’s something TripAdvisor reviewers often give full marks for.

Then there’s the setting to consider. It’s on the seafront in Kokkari, just footsteps away from a smooth pebble beach. Five minutes along the coast, you’ve got the hustle and bustle of Kokkari harbour. Weatherworn fishing boats bob up and down in the dock and a clutch of rustic tavernas line the water’s edge – if you’re a seafood fan, it’s heaven.

As for the hotel itself, it’s definitely in keeping with its typically Greek setting. Think whitewashed walls, wrought-iron balconies and terracotta rooftops. Size-wise, it’s pretty small – there are just ten rooms available, so you’re never just a room number here.

Inside, everything’s fresh and bright, if fairly simple on the décor front. Pine furniture and floaty cotton curtains are the mainstays, with watercolours and fresh flowers contributing to the homely feel. You’ll get a balcony or a terrace all to yourself, too. Plus, extras like air-conditioning and fridges are available to hire.

Outside, the pool is the main attraction. It’s pretty compact but perfect for cooling off in.
