Palazzino di Corina details
With unique bedrooms and a pretty courtyard, the Palazzino di Corina is the definition of a boutique hotel.
It only takes a glimpse to fall in love with this place. All exposed stone walls, wood-beamed ceilings and ornate vintage furnishings, it’s got an olde-worlde feel to it – which is apt seeing as this place is just footsteps from the 16th-century Venetian fortress.
The lounge is particularly pretty. It’s a cosy room accessorised with grand mirrors, dark-wood furniture and buttoned Edwardian sofas. And it’s all topped off with a panelled ceiling and an elegant beaded chandelier.
The same delicate touches have been lavished on the bedrooms, too. You won’t find any two the same – they’ve all been treated as individuals. So while one might have a grand four-poster draped in muslin, another will have a big wrought-iron bed between antique bedside tables. But whichever one you get, it’ll be nothing short of fabulous.
The courtyard outside is every bit as impressive. There’s a plunge pool tucked into the corner, while the rest of the space is taken up with small clusters of wooden sunloungers and palms and plants in terracotta pots. Look upwards and you’ll see a little Juliet balcony peering over the scene. As for the location, this hotel is pretty central. It’s right next to the harbour and the old town, so shops, bars and restaurants are on your doorstep. Not only that, there’s a sandy beach just a ten-minute walk away.
