Villa Erato details
Al fresco meals are easy at Villa Erato. There’s a purpose-built barbecue on the large, poolside terrace and there’s easy access to the kitchen, too. But the real outdoor dining plus are the views. This hillside retreat is set in an olive grove and looks down over Skopelos Town’s harbour in the distance.
Its whitewashed exterior – with green shutters – and air-conditioned interior Villa Erato ticks off traditional style and modern comforts. Inside, the walls are painted white and, when combined with the terracotta-coloured tiled floors, give it an authentic Greek island feel. The kitchen’s fully-equipped with an oven, microwave and dishwasher, and there’s a four-seater dining table. The lounge, meanwhile, has a TV – though there’s only Greek channels available – and DVD player. It’s on this floor you’ll also find a twin bedroom with an ensuite shower room.
Up the narrow flight of stairs, there’s a master double bedroom, which also has an ensuite shower room. But the upstairs coup are the French doors that open onto a large veranda. From here, you can look out over the villa’s rectangular pool and to the green slopes of Mount Palouki.
If you want to explore, there are restaurants and a mini market in Skopelos Town – which is a 15-minute drive away. And you can reach the beach by car in just ten minutes.
