Bill and Coo Suites and Lounge details
Widescreen views, on-trend décor and a nothing’s-too-much-trouble approach to service make this gay-friendly hotel an award-winner.
The clue is in the name with this one. Doves – a symbol of peace and love – tend to bill and coo sweetly to their other halves. And that’s the kind of romantic atmosphere this gay-friendly sanctuary strives to echo. You’ll be bowled over, in particular, by its beachfront location and boutique-style bedrooms. After all, it’s not without good reason this place has just won Condé Nast’s award for Best Greek Hotel.
Take the location, for starters. From its elevated perch, Bill & Coo looks out over Megali Ammos beach. All soft sand and turquoise waters, it’s one of the island’s best tanning spots. And Mykonos Town isn’t far away either. A ten-minute walk will take you right to the heart of the action. From sunset cocktails at the Montparnasse Piano Bar, to late-night dancing at Pierro’s, it’s all within easy reach.
As for the hotel itself, it’s the funky little touches that really set this place apart. Outside, a sleek infinity pool offers up panoramic views of Mykonos Bay. Cushioned twin loungers are well-placed to make the most of the scenery, and pretty metalwork lanterns hold flickering candles come nightfall. There’s a poolside bar, too – a laid-back hub that transforms into a chic cocktail lounge at sunset.
In terms of where to dine, the restaurant is set just back from the pool. Its brushed-metal bistro tables and cushioned wicker chairs fan out around the water’s edge. As for the food, the chef here prides himself on using fresh local produce. In fact, this place even has its own farm that grows fruit and vegetables for the restaurant. The menu mixes homemade Greek favourites with international classics.
Lastly, there are 24 individually designed suites here, each with its own sea-facing balcony. Vanilla tones are jazzed up with bold feature walls and futuristic light fittings. Fluffy bathrobes and luxury toiletries add an indulgent touch. Plus, if you really want to go all out on the romance front, opt for a deluxe suite – that way you’ll get your very own whirlpool bath made for two.
