The Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resort is a huge hotel, sprawled over 38 hectares of land in the Ponta da Piedade nature reserve. It’s got a prime clifftop location, so you can enjoy Atlantic Ocean views and easy access to Canavial Beach, just below.
Health and wellbeing are at the centre of this hotel’s philosophy, and the Tanai Spa is testament to this. You can choose from a treatment menu of detoxifying vitamin facials, hot stone massages and mineral clay body wraps, in a tranquil atmosphere created by mood lighting and meditation melodies. If you’d rather relax in the sunshine, there’s a palm-edged swimming pool right outside.
Meals are served in Moods, a Portuguese restaurant that specialises in regional delicacies. You've also got Senses, a fine dining Mediterranean eatery open in the evenings. A Belgian chocolatier works his magic in the kitchen here, and he gets special mention for his macaroons and petit gâteau – hot chocolate puddings served with scoops of vanilla ice-cream.
