This tiny tiled building was once a hay store and although it’s kept its traditional looks, it’s been converted into a very cosy bolthole. The front door opens into a beamed living room and kitchen area, overlooked by a small mezzanine gallery with a double bed. A compact little shower room is tucked under the gallery.

Step outside onto the large, covered terrace and there’s a private lawn, which is magically lit up at night. The best bit, though, is that it looks out over the surrounding Tuscan valleys – so it’s just you, rolling hills and endless glorious views.
