The Quinta do Lorde Resort is a traditional Madeiran retreat complete with great views and peaceful surroundings.

The Quinta do Lorde Resort is a brand new, village-like complex set on a pea-green hillside on the Ponta de São Lourenço peninsula. It offers up sweeping views of a small bay below and, although the setting feels nice and private, you’re still just a 30-minute drive from Madeira’s cosmopolitan capital, Funchal.

The resort has been designed in the style of a traditional Madeiran hamlet, so you can expect terracotta-topped buildings edged by gardens, streams and little wooden bridges. The central swimming pool's framed by palms.

You’ve got a choice of restaurants at mealtimes – a buffet eatery in the hotel, and the Lord’s Club and Captain’s Bar which have scooped seafront settings down by the marina, so you can dine on international cuisine just metres from the waves.
