Disney BoardWalk Inn details
Standing on Disney’s BoardWalk, this waterfront hotel combines traditional seaside charm with a standout dining scene.
If you like being in the thick of the action, the BoardWalk Inn is a fantastic option. It’s set on the waterfront of Disney’s BoardWalk, with bars, shops and restaurants all around. And it’s in a good spot for reaching the Walt Disney World theme parks. You can catch buses and boats from here to Magic Kingdom. Plus, there are walkways close by that take you to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
As for the hotel itself, it’s a throwback to the candy-coloured seaside buildings of 1940s America. Cue arcade-style arches and white-painted balconies. Step inside, though, and the vaudeville theme is toned down. Take the lobby, for example. Hung with bright chandeliers, it’s all glossy wood, elegant sofas and stylish potted palms.
The rooms continue in the same vein. You’ve got a choice of guest rooms or garden cottages, all decorated in a country house style. Expect comfy cherry-wood or wrought-iron beds teamed with floral furnishings and accessories like satellite TVs and coffee-makers. Plus, each room has a balcony and each cottage opens out into its own picket-fenced patio.
When it comes to dining, there’s plenty of choice. There’s the Flying Fish Café, which serves up fish, steaks and show cooking in a glitzy art deco space. Alternatively, you’ve got the Mediterranean-inspired Kouzzina, or the Big River Grill, which specialises in all-American sandwiches and salads. Add a bakery, an ice-cream parlour and a sports bar, and everyone’s catered for.
Lastly, the pools are great. There are three in total, laid out in the terraces and gardens. The biggest, Luna Park, has a circus theme, with a rollercoaster chute and spouting elephants. And when you just want to chill out, you’ll find two quiet pools nearby.
